Online hearing test
A quick, simple simulation: 10 sounds to listen for (5 low, 5 high) and an instant result. Headphones or earbuds recommended.
Before you begin
Find a quiet spot, ideally with headphones or earbuds. You will hear 10 sounds at different frequencies: simply indicate whether you hear each one or not.
Important: this test is an indicative simulation. It does not replace a screening performed in clinic with calibrated equipment in a soundproof booth. Only a professional can truly assess your hearing.
Adjust your volume
Click the button to hear a reference tone (1000 Hz), then adjust your device volume and the slider below until the sound is comfortable — neither too loud nor too soft. Don't change the volume afterwards.
When the button blinks, sound is coming out — if you hear nothing, raise your device volume.

Low-pitched soundWhen the button blinks, the sound is playing — listen closely. You can replay it, then answer:

This result is purely indicative: it depends on your equipment, the volume you chose and background noise. For a reliable assessment, only an in-clinic screening counts — it's free*, quick and comes with no obligation.
What does this test measure?
Low sounds (125–1000 Hz)
They carry the volume and "warmth" of speech: vowels, deep voices, background sounds. A loss in the lows makes everything sound "faint".
High sounds (2000–8000 Hz)
They carry clarity: consonants (s, f, sh), birdsong, ringtones. This is the range most often affected by age and noise — you hear, but you no longer understand clearly.
What next?
Whatever your result, the in-clinic screening remains the gold standard: soundproof booth, calibrated equipment, each ear tested separately, and a professional to interpret your results.
